On behalf of the Alpha Nu Chapter of Omega Phi Alpha, I welcome you to our website! We invite you to take some time to explore & find what makes our chapter unique at Texas State University!
A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Omega Phi Alpha was founded on the three principles of service, leadership, and sisterhood. We strive to share positivity as the chapter helps the university community, the community at large, the members of the sorority, and the nations of the world. Our national service sorority provides great opportunities for community service, leadership roles, and making meaningful connections with our sisters. Together, we all join to complete service projects in giving back to the communities around us, while also having a great time with the members of the sorority!
As a freshman I attended Texas State University, coming in from another city and not knowing anyone from my hometown here, it took me a year to feel comfortable and open up to getting involved at the university. It was the fall semester of my sophomore year, when I was walking through the quad that I was stopped by OPA girls at their tent as they invited me to attend their info night later that day. I went to the info night, and I was absolutely in love! All the girls were so kind to me and showed that they genuinely cared about welcoming me into this great organization. This sorority has provided me with countless opportunities to participate in very meaningful service projects and has allowed me to build relationships with a group of such hardworking girls. On top of all that, it is the most affordable sorority on campus! Omega Phi Alpha has allowed me to grow and become someone I would’ve only dreamed of becoming. If you are looking for a way to get involved on campus, give back to the community, gain leadership skills, and make lifelong friends, consider joining our sisterhood!
Sincerely,
Esmeralda Cardenas
