Today's Friends, Tomorrow's Leaders, Forever in Service

Do you enjoy service? Well, Omega Phi Alpha might just be your fit. We are a National Service Sorority, this sets us apart from other organizations because we are service based, but we still highly value sisterhood. Throughout the semester we do various projects that impact university community, community-at-large, members of the sorority, nations of the world. Our chapter was founded in 2013 which makes us relatively new but we are very involved in our areas of service. To learn more about our chapter explore our website and check out our different social media sites to see if our chapter is something you are interested in being a part of while at Texas State or contact us on the contact page. We can't wait to hear from you!

A Letter from Our President

Omega Phi Alpha was founded on the three principles of service, leadership, and sisterhood. We strive to keep positive energy as the chapter helps the university community, the community at large, the members of the sorority, and the nations of the world. Our national service sorority provides great opportunities for leadership as a pledge and as an active. Members also have the opportunity to take on exec and non- exec board positions that allow them to be highly involved with planning for chapter events. Besides our service and leadership, we hold fun sisterhood events such as movie nights, date parties, hot yoga, formals, and much more. Our chapter also participates with intramurals each semester. No matter if the sister is playing in the game or coming to support we are always having a fun time.

I transferred to Texas State my sophomore year from a community college and knew I had to get involved in an organization to feel at home at such a large university. I never thought I would rush a sorority, but after researching women's organizations at Texas State online I came across OPA. I went to their info night during recruitment not expecting too much, but I left knowing God had led me right where I belonged! I have met my best friends here and it was truly made my college experience so much fun! Being in leadership positions has helped me step out of my comfort zone and grow so much as a person. It sounds so cliche but I really met my future bridesmaids in Omega Phi Alpha! If you are looking for a way to get involved on campus, give back to the community, and make life long friends, come check out our sisterhood!

Sincerely,

Caitlin Lemons
